特長
ディーゼルエンジンから排出される粒子状物質（PM:Particulate Matter）は
大気汚染物質として、近年その排出量が厳しく規制されています。
2003年10月以降実施される新車への規制（新短期・新長期規制）及び
使用過程車への自動車NOx・PM法による規制や、
8都県市における排出ガス規制をクリアするために、
ディーゼル車にはDPF（Diesel Particulate Filter）や
酸化触媒等の後処理装置が必要となります。

一方、DPF装着車に従来発売されているディーゼルエンジン油を使用すると、
灰分が多いために、短い期間でDPFを詰まらせる可能性が高くなります。
このような背景から自動車工業会・石油連盟から、
DPF装着車向けディーゼルエンジン油規格のガイドライン「DH-2」「DH-1」が発表されています（※トラック、バス向けはDH-2）
